This summer has been a lesson in idle-living. In New England, June brought rain, rain, and more rain. While I was aching to get outside after a long winter, I decided to just rest.

I’ve spent the first half of these summer days napping, reading, magazine flipping. Brainstorming new organizational ideas, coming up with new crafting ideas, gardening, napping some more, walking, listening to raindrops on the roof. And now the sun is shining again, so getting back outside to soak in some rays and breathe in some fresh air.

I’m looking forward to more idle days as the summer continues - to not get caught up in crossing everything off my to-do list, or appearing completely “together”. I’m turning 30 next month, and while my twenties were fun, fun, fun, I’m looking forward to living through my thirties, understanding myself just a little bit more and what’s important to me and striving to rest in that just a little more each year.
